Exec: Playbooks

Playbook Mode: Benchmarks or Custom Rules

Built-In Playbooks for Market Standards

Gavel Exec includes built-in playbooks that we've developed with expert attorneys in corporate and real estate law. These allow you to instantly run redlines across your document based on:

  • Market-standard benchmarks
  • Client-favorable positions (e.g., strong buyer/seller terms)

Build Your Own Playbook

You can also create your own playbooks by adding rules individually or uploading your own documents (such as checklists or spreadsheet playbooks). Gavel Exec will convert them into reusable playbooks that apply consistent redlines across future deals. Playbooks can include:

  • Redlines
  • Comments to opposing counsel
  • Comments to your client for internal review

How To Build Your Own Playbook

Go to the Playbooks tab, and click "+ Create new"

You will be prompted to name your Playbook and click "+Create"

From here, you have two options.

  1. You can click +Add rule and add as much detail as desired under the Description, including specifics on markup guidance for redlining.

  1. You can click on "Generate from Files" to create a playbook from multiple docx, PDF, or csv files.

From there, you will be directed to answer some questions on what you want to accomplish with the playbook, upload documents that set the standards of your playbooks, and upload templates or finalized versions you would like the playbook to be built out of.

Run the Playbook

You can now run the entire playbook:

Or, you can run each rule individually as needed.
